I wouldn't give up all hope yet. Scott is 33 points behind but at Kansas he out pointed Briscoe by 20 points and at Richmond he scored 40 more than the Aussie. So 34 points might not be that hard to peg back.

Danica won in Japan last year but Scott was third. He then won in Miami. So Dixon & the team know the last two tracks well and how to finish at the pointy end of the field. I wouldn't say it's all done & dusted yet.

True to form, Scott did well at Motegi . But I have to wonder what the hell Ryan Briscoe was thinking? On a day when he just had to keep his nose clean, drive sensibly and pick up enough points to maintain a points lead he goes and makes a rookie type error, spins the wheels exiting Pit Lane, collects the marker cone and brushes the barrier. And in the process made it a lot tougher to take the IRL Championship.

Not that Scott Dixon will be complaining. Scott drove sensibly, the team made great pit stops and he now heads to Homestead, a track which he won at last year, with a slight points lead.

Scott wasn't able to win back to back Indy500's but he now has a good chance of winning back to back Championships and becoming a three time IRL Champion.

He just won at Edmonton. Interesting race with Castroneves black flagged for blocking his team mate which let Scott through for the win.

Is Helio trying out for the next Fight For Life charity event? I know it's tough having a race win taken off you but atleast he's not racing for Ferrari!
