Attended my first race meeting 1951 Gamston Airfield (UK) NSCC. From 1970, actively involved in motorsport at all levels, initially with Mini Cooper in sprints and hillclimbs in UK. Assisted in the organisation of the first postwar Donington race meeting.
First real race was Pukekohe 1985 (in a 1750cc Allegro Equipe..) and since 1991, a heavy involvement in all aspects of classic car racing including racing, administration, race and series organisation and race handicapping. Also now writing for a new local car magazine - Clubsport.
Own one bike (under restoration) two classic GT cars , (one temporary), supercharged 1600cc saloon and a diesel 2 litre Turbo 4WD. Currently building a 1956 Brit saloon with Rover V8 power as a tow, show, Targa and race car. Can't wait...
A commercial and financial involvement in manufacturing and supplying the race industry, as 50% owner of a local brand of racewear.
Involved with Hampton Downs so that I can spend the summer weekends of my retirement (if that ever happens) with a view of the racing from the top floor of an apartment building in the Amon block. |
