Hope so. The problem is the axis on which the linkage from the firewall pivots is so different to that on the carbs. I constructed a pretty effective bellcrank system which is very good but not perfect.

Sorry folks.I 've had nothing to do with Raymond Mays head.Only ever seen them.My experience was with a wildly worked Mk3 head with filled and reshaped chambers, big valves, and 45 DCOE Weber. In early seventies, a bloke used to race a Humber 80/Hillman Minx, with a Raymond Mays headed Zephyr engine on the local speedway up here. I havent seen him for years and dont know what has happened to the head.About a year ago, I saw an Allard Palm Beach under restoration on a trailer going along road and I wondered weather that engine had Ray Mays head. There are fairly persistant rumours about here that a guy over Moutere Hills is gearing up to recast a batch of replica RM heads, but time will tell I guess.

yep - its a sad state of affairs when people are spending 2500 on a warped, corroded 40 year old head because nobody is wise enough to start pumping em out at $1500 a piece..........and geoff, i bought a gearbag off a bloke down here for nzt that is building a replica 'number 13' car , the allard sister with the Mk2 bottom end and the mays head - he reckoned he knew you, and bought some motors off you? was from up your way - moved here, good bloke too - nattered for a good 30 mins about all things 5 star related.
