My son has just bought a real basic Life-Like HO scale train set from a mate and is looking for more track and accessories, has anyone got anything they want to get rid of? If so please post here and we can do it through the auction process, thanks!
What's your 20 frd1? The hobby guys have regular get togethers beside West Wave in Henderson. It's usually got heaps of train enthusiasts. One of them might be able to help. I go to have a look and there are usually a few diecast guys. Last time I was impressed with the slot car dragsters. They were quick.
Sorry kezza, must be thick! What do you mean by 20?
Sorry, my age is showing. Remember CW McCall, a song called Convoy? What's your 20? means what's your location? Anyway, gotta catch some zzz's,
This here's the Rubber Duck, we gone, bye bye.
10-4 kezza, I wondered about that lolol!!! Palmertson North.
Sorry mate, don't know anyone down that way that would have the train stuff. Up here in good old JAFA Land there are heaps, I think even old Merv is still into it. Merv Smith is a radio legend from way back and is also a keen model train enthusiast.
Ha, been looking in the shops and it's so reasonably priced for train stuff we're better off buying new! Little guy's going to have a good setup when he's finished.
Yep, Santa made sure he's now got lots of it. Good stuff too.
Sorry to bump up an old thread, but...
The Model X show at west wave in henderson is on at Queens B'Day weekend normally.
I know this because the G Scale train group my Grandfather (who died mid last year) always puts on a display there. Last year was very sad for my family, but we kept our promise to him and displayed all his home built train models there, he was very keen on building NZ type carridges and wagons (from scratch), also altering locos to make them look like NZ style ones.
Model X normally has alot of train stuff for sale there too, espically for HO
try
http://www.mervsmithhobbies.co.nz/ as he might have some of the stuff your after, and if youve got the right controller setup you should be able to run almost any brand loco and wagons on the track
I will try to get some photos of all his stuff and post them here, Ive got some photos lying around somewhere here
Hope hes having fun with it, I always seem to like to do a bit of shunting with dads HO setup out in the garage, hes had that set since he was my age.
Found a copy of the club magazine from Model X 2006
Down on pages 9, 10, and 11 is all the mentions of Model X, on page 10 you will see photos of Me (the red headed one), my Dad and All of my grandfathers train stuff.
